Antipodium Test

Tuesday 4th September

Georgina Graham kindly asked me to be her first assistant during LFW so of course I jumped at the chance- what an honour!  So the first port of call was the fitting for the Antipodium show.  This is where different hair and make-up looks will be tried out until everyone decides on the look they want at the show.

The first thing Georgina will do is take a look at the collection, as this is where she gets inspiration from for the make-up. She wanted a 'dry arid shine' to the skin., and for it to look soft, feminine, minimal, beautiful and like a 'sci-fi Chloe girl'.

After the hair was done I got to work prepping the model.  I gave her an oil massage which Georgina is famous for, before putting on a minimal base of face and body foundation.  As the show was sponsored by Mac we had Mac Senior artist Debbie Finnegan on hand to show us which products would be launched soon.  Fashion Week is a great way for Mac to trial out these products and make any adjustments if needs be before they are launched.  So Georgina used a new strobe liquid to contour the cheeks. Pink Opal pigment was used to highlight the cheekbones, eyelid, bridge of nose and cupids bow.  A new bright orange colour from a lip palette was used on the lips, pressed on with a finger.  Blot powder was used to control any shine down the T-zone, and clear brow gel was used to brush up the brows.  If any girls needed it, a new eyebrow pencil would be used on the inner brow to make the brows look more masculine.

After the hair and make-up is finished the model does a walk so everyone can get a feel for it.  Georgina trialed out another lip colour which was pink, but everyone thought the orange worked far better.  So that was it- job done!
