Natt Weller photo shoot

Tuesday 24th May

The son of Paul Weller is soon to be releasing his first single, available for download only. So he enlisted the help of his photographer friend, Harley Moon Kemp (son of Martin Kemp) to shoot the cover image, and myself to do his make-up. We were shooting in Harley's family home in Rickmansworth, where she has a great studio space downstairs. As Natt was about two hours late due to problems with the wardrobe, I got to have some nice chats with Harley, and she showed me some of her recent work. She mainly shoots celebrities but I was really impressed by her recent fashion shoots. There was a gorgeous test that she had shot with a model from M&P, which had taken place in this beautiful garden house in her back garden. All the clothes and accerories were vintage (Harley's Mum collects vintage stuff, and she also styled the shoot), and the images were so pretty. She definately hasn't done well just because her Dad is famous!

So back to Natt, when he finally arrived we had a chat about what he wanted, and he wanted it keeping quite natural. I was expecting to do something quite full on as he is known for wearing dark eye make-up, but he is trying to get away from that and wanted to keep it simple for the cover. So I just did flawless skin, a bit of coffee pencil smudged under the eyes, and balm on the lips, and he looked great. He's got a great look, and he knows what he wants so it was an easy shoot!

Stylist Magazine

Wednesday 11th May

Very excited to be assisting Alex Babsky again, I love him! This time for a tanning story for Stylist magazine, shot at Big Sky Studios. There were four models altogether with various skintones, ranging from fair to black, to showcase the different types off tan available. It was shot by photographer Darren Feist, and directed by Stylist's beauty director Joanna McGarry.

Bumble and Bumble Trends Presentation

Wednesday 4th and Friday 5th May

Another day assisting Neil Young, who designed the make-up looks for Bumble and Bumble's trend presentation at the Future Gallery. On the Friday I was left in charge to recreate the looks on the three models. Bumble and Bumble's Neil Moodie was heading the hair team, and was also presenting the looks on stage.

The Most Incredible Thing

Monday 21st and Friday 25th March

I was fortunate enough to be making up some male ballet dancers for The Most Incredible Thing at Sadler's Wells. The Pet Shop Boys have joined forces with renowned choreographer Javier De Frutos, to produce this new ballet based on a Hans Christian Anderson fairy story. The story follows a king, who will give half his wealth and the hand of his daughter to the inventor of the most fantastic object. I was working along side the amazing Neil Young, to give the dancers a mean and moody look.
